# 151. Follow the Spring Art Tour now at a gallery near you. Four days of contemporary art and design, walkabouts with artists, talks and white wine (usually cheap but purposeful) kick off tomorrow night.
Some programme highlights include:
10 Gallery openings tomorrow night, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8 at 6PM
showcasing works as diverse as Carl Becker’s witty take on landscape artist JH Pierneef at the Everard Reed Gallery to Gabrielle Goliath’s intriguingly named “Murder on 7th” at Gallery MOMO said to be an exploration of the troubled psyche of South Africans.

and an exhibition of paintings and monotypes by Dutch artist Toon Verhoef will open at the NIROX project space at Arts on Main.

Launch of arts writer & artist Sue Williamson’s overview of contemporary art, South African Art Now, at Boekehuis, Cnr. Lothbury and Fawley streets, Auckland Park. Williamson will be in conversation with Thembinkosi Goniwe, artist and lecturer at the Wits School of Arts
“US” a show curated by Bettina Malcomess and Simon Njami – A Walkabout with Bettina Malcomess and artists, showing performance work from the opening night at Goodman Gallery Project Space at Arts on Main, corner Main Street and Berea Street, Downtown JHB
And on SUNDAY my pick would be – from 9am to 12
Works by Willem Boshoff on display at the NIROX Sculpture Park with a talk by the artist at The Cradle Restaurant at 2.30.
