Laurice Taitz (like Charlize Theron and Charlene Wittstock) grew up in Benoni (31km from Johannesburg), South Africa, believing it was her fate to always be slightly off-centre. Having swopped the East Rand for the city, she grew tired of hearing people say “There’s nothing to do in Joburg” and has an unflagging determination to prove them wrong.
Laurice is a mediatrix, project-builder, blogger, journalist who compiles the Top 10 things to do in Joburg each week for the Mail&Guardian newspaper and writes about all things Johannesburg. She has an M.A. in Africa Literature (U. of the Witwatersrand) and another in Journalism Leadership (University of Central Lancashire) and her heart is still set on showing the world the city she lives in.
